Fatal error during installation of NAV 2009 R2

I have NAV 2009 SP1 installed in my Laptop.

Now I am trying to install NAV 2009 R2, for this I have done following steps…

  1. Uninstalled from Control Panel and Setup.exe

  2. Deleted Microsoft Dynamics NAV Folder from C:\Program Files (x86)

  3. Restarted Laptop

  4. Ran setup.exe from R2 DVD folder

Now the error message is attached

8623.Installation Error.png

and Microsoft Dynamics Server service is not installed in Services…

If I try to install Service manually it is displaying

[Window Title]

Windows Installer

[Main Instruction]

Another version of this product is already installed. Installation of this version cannot continue. To configure or remove the existing version of this product, use Add/Remove Programs on the Control Panel.

[OK]

If I look at Add/Remove Programs on the Control Panel, I found nothing related to NAV 2009 SP1…

FYI:I am the administrator of Laptop.

What am I missing? :-k

Sounds like you need to run the install under the Administrator account.

Hi Matt,

As i told in the above post, I am the administrator of laptop…and I can install NAV2009 SP1 without any problem.

Hi Mohana,

I am not sure of this. Try to install it from your hard disk instead of from DVD. If it is not working then install all the components separately. Delete the Demo database from SQL server before starting your installation so that you can fix the last issue.

Hi Karhik,

I am installing from my C: drive only and not from DVD.

I didnt have any issue with SQL server database…

Hi Mohana,

I also facing the same problem, cannot run RTC on MS nav R2. If you find the solution please let me know also.

Thanks

Is Microsoft Dynamics Server Service installed in Services?

Hi Mohana,

Can you see the navision service in services?

Hi karthik,

Nope, as i mentioned in my first post,

Microsoft Dynamics Server service is not installed in Services…

Hi Mohana,

I am not sure of this. It is only a trial and error. Install the service in some other system. Copy the installed folder (whose name is service) and paste it in your installation folder itself. Then follow this link to create a service.

Thank you karthik.

I already tried to do it but could not succeeded…still I will give a try again and let you know…
