The program could not create a connection to the server

Dear all,

I have installed MS NAV R2.( Microsoft Dynamics NAV 2009 Classic with Microsoft SQL Server , Microsoft Dynamics NAV 2009 Classic) is working Perfect Only I am not able to connect with the RTC i am getting an error The program could not create a connection to the server.

OS: Windows 2008
SQL 2008 Ent Edition.

Please help me with this error.

Is it client server environment or single machine?

Is your Microsoft Dynamics Server service running?

Its a single machine and the Microsoft Dynamics server service is not running i have been trying to run it but its not getting started. Its giving an error services stated and stoped.

is service trying to log on as local system account or Network account?

Try by local system account.

I tried to logon as Local Computer. But i am getting an error. The Microsoft Dynamics NAV server services on local computer started and then stopped. Some services stop automatically if they have no work to do, for example, the performance Logs and alters service.

did you try by re-installing?

You can not run the service if there is an error in custom settings.config file. Check if there is any error.
