Use of Purchasing policies

Purchasing policies in Procurement and sourcing is used for various parameters within the purchase requisition workflow, but is purchasing policies also used elsewhere for other functions/processes in AX2012 ?

Yes it is. There are many policies we can configure for individual processes under purchase apart from purchase requisition. Refer the technet article here: http://technet.microsoft.com/en-us/library/hh209455.aspx

Thanks. Please explain in more detail what you mean by “we can configure for individual processes under purchase apart from PR…”. The technet article you refer to actually starts with: “A purchasing policy is a collection of rules that control the requisition process”

Basically my question is: If one is not using purchase requisitions is there any use of purchasing policies (and any need of configuring anything from this area) in AX2012?
