Navision Add On for Mail/Fax/Email

Altus PDF Mail/Fax for Navision fills the gap for one of the most commonly requested functions - the ability to directly e-mail or fax documents from within the software. No more printing reports to PDF files and then manually attaching them to e-mail messages and re-keying the recipient name - the Altus PDF Mail/Fax add-on takes care of it all. The software also facilitates the development of advanced workflow functionality within Navision. No longer will developers need to spend time building routines to generate PDF reports to serve as attachments in workflow e-mail processes; a few simple lines of code with the Altus add-on and the task is done. For a better understanding of the add-on features, select either the “E-mail Overview” or “Fax Overview” options in the menu on the left. Check it out at: www.altusbusinesssolutions.com

Hi Nicola! We use the preview and Send To feature in Navision in conjunction with Faxination software from Fenestraae. It works well although it is not an “add-in” to Navision. It will allow for faxing from email of almost any document. http://www.faxination.com/

Hi John We are working over a Citrix Server in Switzerland. Will this software also work for us? Regrads Joerg PS: Navision 3.7, SQL-Server2000 w. Windows Server 2003 and Citrix Metaframe

The Altus add-on mentioned by Nicola above work work fine for that purpose. For email, the key would be having Outlook configured on the citrix server to handle the outgoing messages. For faxing, things should be very straightforward.

Rob, Can you elaborate a bit more on your comments about using Aldus PDF in a Citrix environment? We have all our user profiles living on a Citrix server, and Navision installed on a second ‘database’ server. Each user has an Outlook profile on the Citrix server, but no exchange. Will the Aldus PDF work in our environment? What other considerations are there? Thanks, Jim

Thanks for your interest Jim. Basically, if the users have an outlook profile configured so that they are in fact able to open Outlook over Citrix (i.e. the outlook client running on Citrix, not locally) and send email, then they should be good to go as far as the add-on is concerned. Let me know if you have any other questions. Thanks, Rob
