I have Batched tracked items where users enter/ create manual batch numbers during receipts.
Initially, I created a Tracking number group (Product information management > Products > Released products) with ‘Manual = Yes’ turned on and attached this group to my released product > Managed inventory > Tracking > Batch number group.
But looks like the batch tracked items that do not have this group selected behaves the same way. Same goes for ‘Serial number group’.
Is there any other reason why I should assign a Batch number group to a released product if I don’t need the system to assign automatic batch numbers?
