Differentiate between Production company and Test company - NAV 2009 R2 Classic client

Hi Folks -

One of our customer are on good old NAV 2009 classic client and they have 2 companies and users mistake without knowing which company they are on. Is there any way to show in Bold within Nav which company they are currently using somewhere in the right corner of the screen which will be there for the entire session they are in the current company. In Role tailored client in company information we now have System indicator but does not work for classic client.

Has anyone done any customization or has any ideas? Any help is highly appreciated.

Hi,

No the classic client does not have something like the System Indicator in the RTC.

What we used to do in some of the larger classic projects projects I have been on, was to make something like a “splash” screen when logging in, making the user aware that they are in a test company. We did that change after we had one of our countries used the test database for two weeks, without anyone noticing! It was even back before the menu-suite and we already had the “TEST ENVIRONMENT” message in the main menu.
