We are running AX 2012 and found some entries to be wrong while checking sales tax transactions for previous fiscal year.
We had posted backdated posting for some purchase invoices. Purchase currency and accounting currency were different.
Now, when we check invoice voucher, sales tax entries were found missing. Later on we found that sales tax transactions were posted in same voucher but, different date.
E.g.
Invoice Posted on 27th Jan, 2013
Invoice Date: 25 Jan, 2013
Document Date:25 Jan, 2013
Now purchase invoice voucher shows date as 25 Jan, 2013 (with Tax lines missing)
If we see GL > Inquiries > Tax > Posted Sales Tax filtered by same voucher number, Tax lines do appear, but with date 27th Jan, 2013.
Since exch rates were different on both dates, Invoice Amount MST on Invoice Journal and that on Sales Tax Transactions report is coming out to be different.
Can anyone help to understand, why this happens and what can be done to rectify this?
Note: In GL Parameters > Sales Tax, Calculation date type is set to “Invoice Date”.
