Is anyone in Australia and trying to use the Navision Australia extensions for the local GST and BAS requirements ? More specifically has anyone got it to work yet ?

Currently the following issues come readily to mind : 1. The amount shown at field 1A is derived from the GST collected G/L accounts not the result calculated at field G9. 2. Same logic for fields 1B and G20. 3. The calculation randomly allocates BAS adjustmens to the wrong BAS period. Problem known to Navision. 4. If sales adjustments for the period total a debit the figure at G7 will be reversed sign. The XML export uses absolute value to satisfy the ATO requirement for no negative numbers thus the arithmetic for fields G1 through G8 is no longer valid. Like wise fields G10 through G19. 5. No ATO version 3.0 support. 6. The result of 1) and 2) means the Navision variance tab is not what it should be. Since the calculation sheet never balances for our system, the difficulty of auditing the source data is a significant time waster every month.
We have a number of sites quite happily using the BAS calculation sheet and it was mainly a matter of getting the set up correct that solved the “problems”. In reply to 1 and 2 the GST Accounts in question should have the Direct Posting flag set to No and so should therefore agree to the GST Amounts calculated from then on its a matter of ensuring that the setup of GL Accounts for fields G1 through G7 and G10 through G18 are correct to pick up all the correct Gross Amounts. This can be time consuming and involve a lot of playing with combinations of Posting Groups both GST and General. Re Point 5 Navision Australia are aware of the problem and are working on it Re Point 6 as above if the setup is correct then the variance works OK
