When exporting to excel from an analysis by dimensions view, the accounting period on the data export is shown as 010109, even though a filter was set as only Feb 09. The data is correct, but the excel date value is wrong.

I think this is due to the setup of the analysis view. Can you check the analysis view card and see what the date compress is set as. If it is year (or quarter) then the update routine stores the data as at the first date of the period. If so it’s easy to fix - just change the date compress and update the records again.
Can you tell us what is your account year set as?
It is monthly. It seems to be picking up the date of the start of the year, not the start date of the period in question.

What value is in Analysis View card field Starting Date, if any?
If this field is not blank, Analysis View will contain a calculated summary row with date Starting Date -1 (i.e. 2008-12-31 if SD=2009-01-01) in case you select Balance at Date option. If you choose Net Change option, this row isn’t included in export, however it still exists in Analysis View.
