Hello,
The dimensions detail and total reports are blank when I run them even though I have posted entries for the dimensions. Can someone please advise where the problem lies?
Hello,
The dimensions detail and total reports are blank when I run them even though I have posted entries for the dimensions. Can someone please advise where the problem lies?
I suppose you have filled in all three fields in General tab - otherwise data area will be totally blank.
Now play with Filter tab settings - you might set them to values that is not included in Analysis view - then you can see names & headings, but not a single Amount.
Have you updated the Analysis view after you posted the entries?
Ooops - forgot about
Navision has 2 options
However, first is not recomended, because can bring performance of Posting almost to zero if you have many AVs containing many Dimensions, but it is acceptable to use for some of your views.
Yes but the reports are still blank.
I think it’s the date filter which is causing the report to be blank. My analysis view has a starting date of 7/31/2009, calendar source accounting period but when I enter this value in the date filter nothing appears on the report except the headings. Between I am using navision version 6.
What you say is strange, because this date serves as a start date for “detailed” Analysis View entries. I mean what it serves for is that for each Dim.1 x Dim.2 x Dim3 x Dim.4 combination you get one Analysis View entry for the whole period BigBang…07/31/2009. After that for each combination you should have one entry per period (if you have compressed them with a monthly periodicity, you should have one entry per combination per month). So, it does not make sense that you do not see values when you set the filter to 07/31/2009.
I would advise you the following:
Try to drill into a value cell and release the filter. You should see the Analysis View entries.
Take a look at these entries and then check the options and parameters of your Analysis by Dimensions (all values set throughout the header)
Try to find a gap between the data and your filters.

How do i drill into the cell value? By releasing the filter do you mean i should leave the start date blank?
To drill into the cell means (at least I meant this) to see how the value was formed.
So when you open your Analysis by Dimensions, go to any cell that is supposed to have a value and click on the assist button (a downward arrow on the right). After that release all filters (Ctrl + Shift + F7).
how can i tell the system to pull all dates if i don’t want to specify a date range?
Can you specify your question a bit.
Finally, I was able to display the amounts on the dimensions detail report but…
when I view the dimensions total report the sign on the net amount is all wrong for example I have a credit amount of 19 and a debit amount if 40 but my net amount shows -21. It should be 21. Any suggestions please?
Yes,
Look in the options tab. THere is a checkbox Show opposite sign.
I figured where the problem was…i checked show opposite sign…silly me!!!
Thanks
