I have just installed version 4.0 and am having a look at it. There seems to be a problem with Analysis Views in the General Ledger. Whenever I select GL Accounts in ‘Show as Lines’ and a Dimension in ‘Show as Columns’, the Analysis View works fine, but when the lines and columns are both Dimensions, I get no figures. [:(] In the Cronus demo company it seems to be working fine with the preset Analysis Views. Can anyone help me? Fi
Hi Fiona If it works in Cronus it should lead you to one of a few areas. I will assume you analysis view is set up correctly. Firstly have you updated it? Secondly are you 100% sure that the cross reference of dimensions you are using, within your date filter, contain any values?
Hi Steve Yes to all your questions. Funnily enough, I was yet again going through the options and after changing the ‘Show Amount Field’ from ‘Amount’ to ‘Debit Amount’, I did get the values. But if I change it to ‘Credit Amount’ the values remain the same! I should still get the values when the field is set to ‘Amount’. Don’t you think it’s strange?[?] Fi
Hi Fiona If the Debit Amount is the same as the credit amount you will get zero when you select amount! If the total debit entries are 10000 and the total credit entries are 10000 they will be shown without signs as you are specifying the show amount field. if you select Amount 10000+(-10000) = 0. [:D] Therefore whilst having valid entries in the period as the total is zero it correctly returns nothing. Are you looking at net change or balance at date in the trendscape? Change your date filter, does it alter anything (it will not if you have one reversing entry in the account of course!)
