Hello,

We are looking at implementing Supply Forecast, though in out initial testing it seems to continue to generate planned orders although I have a massive amount of stock available.

Just wondering if this is normal behaviour for AX2012?

Ideally we would like MRP to stop generating recommendations if there is a massive amount of stock.

I understand that the term “massive amount of stock” if potentially an arbitrary number, though just wondering mainly if supply forecast is designed to create recommendations forever, regardless of any other data (EG: stock level, time fence)

Any help / suggestions would be greatly appreciated

If you do not need it as per the net requirements it will not suggest a planned order, so therefore your forecast consumption is incorrectly set with its reduction principle or your item coverage settings are configured to suggest you add to your “massive amount of stock” [:D] Lots of settings in there. Pick one item and start to look at it, start with how you are reducing forecasts and look at settings like the negative and positive days. Feel free to tell us these with some figures for one item and hopefully we can explain it.
