Subject: Prevent employee from viewing Costprice / Purchprice

I want to hide the costprice/ purchprice of items for certain employees.
Whats the best way to do this?

I tried making a usergroup and then with recordsecurity choosing only Salesprice but it doesnt seems to work on prices.

I guess you are talking about base purchase / sales and cost prices on item master. They are actually from the same table so setting user group at field level doesn’t help. It will hide all 3 fields.

Alternatively, you may have to set up the security at form control level, instead of table level. This will help on the form, but you will need to set up for multiple forms which have this field.

But if you are talking about other prices e.g. on on-hand form or other reports… please tell me.

Unfortunately i am talking about purchase/sales and cost price on item master/querys etc.

Could you tell me where I can change the security at form control level?

You need to create a new security key.

Then assign the new security key to the controls of the form or report.

These have to be done in AOT.

Then you will be able to see the new security key in User Group form and set up the permission right as usual.
