Run a dataport from an Excel command button

Hi,

I’d like to see if I could start/run a dataport from a MS Excel 2010 command button macro or even through the right-click menu of MS Outlook 2010 when I do it on a text file attachment. Is this possible and if so, can you offer some suggestions on how I could do it or what topics I could read about that would get me started?

I know I can start the MS Word application from an Excel macro but I don’t know how to get Excel to have Navision do anything.

Navision would be open and I’d be logged in already when I tried to run the dataport.

I tried searching the form but I must not be using the correct key words.

I would think that it is easier to code a report to do what you are doing in the dataport - and you can easily hyperlink to a report from excel. As you can use the standard links for reports.
