Retirement of support for Navision 4.0 SP2

My vendor is insisting that i upgrade to Navision 2009 because they say that the main stream support and the extended support for Navision 4.0 SP2 has been retired by Microsoft. But the site that lists the support retirement tells a different story.

The site i am talking about is http://support.microsoft.com/lifecycle/?LN=en-in&p1=8582&x=15&y=11

Does any body in the forum have any more information on this? We already have a BREP but we do not want to incurr the migrating and customization costs along with the pain of migrating to a new system if it is avoidable.

Its my understanding that SP2 was no longer supported the day SP3 was released.

In general Microsoft does not support a service pack once there is a newer service pack available. As 4.0 SP3 is there (for ages already) 4.0 SP2 is not supported. Looking http://support.microsoft.com/lifecycle/?LN=en-in&p1=8582&x=15&y=11 this is clearly confirmed as 4.0 Sp2 has been discontinued/retired since January 1, 2008.

So what do you argue about with your customer?
