Produciton Type: BOM, Co-Product, By-Product, None, Planning Item, Formula

Hello,

Our end product is built at a contract manufacturer and I as I setup AX 2012 I am trying to figure out what Production Type setting to use for the components that are used to build them.

I know the end item will be set to BOM but I do not understand the rest well enough.

Any help?

The other options are really related to Process Manufacturing.

If the items are yours then leave this as none and set the BOM to consume from a vendor warehouse and set a rule up to transfer the stock from the main warehouse to the vendor in the item coverage setup of the item record.
