Hi

i am novice in Ax2012.In Ax 2012 they introduced model concept.,Can an element present in two models, of same layer?

Hi,

The answer is yes and no. It depends what you mean by saying “element”?

Model is a unique set of model elements in the same layer.

Model element here is not table/class or form it is table header, table field, table method, table index, class method, class header and so on…

Model element is a more granular unit of what we usually call “element”.

Some examples:

  • You can have one table field in one model and another field of the same table in another but you cannot have same field in both models.
  • You can have one form control in one model and another control of the same form in another model but not same control in both models.
  • You cannot have table/class/form… header (description) in two models in the same layer.
