Global Filter

Hi, All Does anyone know how to set a Global filter on a table when user log in, so no matter what form or report he will use will be only read limited records. Or are there any other way to get this purpose? Thanks for your help! Regards Frank

I have read in another forum that the setting of GLOBALFILTER was only possible in the old DOS Navision 3.x. and is not implemented in Financials.

The only way I know of is using the FILTERGROUP command on the OpenForm() of each of your forms and you will also have to modify your reports. FILTERGROUP disable the functionality of the ‘Show All’ button

There are no global filters in Navision. Not in 3.XX and not in Financials. Tarek explained the only possible way to achive a similar result. Lot of work … and you should use the workbench to be sure that you do’nt forget a window or a report that is leading to “your” table.

There ARE globalfilters in Navision 3.5x

To avoid the access to your table using “forgotten” forms/reports, you could set the user rights for the table to “Indirect” and use permission property of modified forms/reports to allow the user to see/modify the data. Urmas
