Full pegging support in MRP

Currently DAX 2009 has support for pegging functionality. A customer needs the fullpegging functionality as well. I have investigated a way of doing this after MRP is calculated, the impact on performance is the same as MRP so in total it will double the time MRP is completely run.

Does anybody now a third party implementation of this functionality?

Thanks in advance,

Fabricio

What does the pegging functionality not do?

Indenpendently of the lot size of planned orders (ex. minimum order quantity, multiple quantity, etc) the system should tell the user exactly what quantity at any level of BOM is used to satisfy a given demand. Currently the system tells what receipt satisfies a demand, but this receipt is the lot size calculated and not the specific quantity of the lot that is used to satisfy a demand.

Some ERPs only implement what DAX currently does because it is expensive to calculate the other.

Hope this helps.

Hi Fabricio,

The form Explosion of form Planned Orders does not take care of its necessity?

Nope, it gives an overview of how the demand is going to be covered but not exactly how many items on each bom level correspond to that demand. It only works if MRP is only done by requirement but not when different BOM levels have different coverage configurations (period, ect) or minimun lot size is configured.
