Adjust exchange rate

Hello ,

usually when we run this batch at the end of year what we suppose to put in starting date ? … the date of the begining of the fiscal year ? …or the date of starting navision …

let’s assume we start navision in 01012004 and we need now to adjust exchange rate to year 2008 …

what we put in starting date 01/01/2004 ending date 31122008

OR

from 01012008 … 31122008

thank you in advance

Generally its adviced (in manuals/help) to leave starting date blank - in such case eventual postponed transactions (physically entered much later than their PostingDate) will be affected by the batch job, too.

Side effect of this is that G/L balance for closed periods may change, if you have entered VERY old transactions, but this happens rarely.

You should leave the starting date blank to also readjust open entries which have a posting date before your fiscal year starts, So to speak open entries older than 1 year.

As you are assigning a posting date to these adjustments, the system posts the adjustment with exactly the date you entered - not with the original posting date it was created with.

So you are NOT going to change the results of previous year when using a date of the fiscal year you are closing.

Tomas,

You are completely right about

I forgot that in my country we have a mod in this Batchjob - standard performs as you wrote…
