Moving MS Navision DB from c drive to D drive (or any other location within the Server)

Dear All,

i am asking this question again because still i am not confident.

i have MS Nav DB (C/SIDE) with only single file currently in C drive.

Due to memory shortage and data being increased everyday i want to move this DB file to some other location say D drive within the same server.

Should i simply cut paste the DB file?

Thanks and Regards,

Premjeet Singh

Well, I guess the best way to do it is the shut down the NAV Server service and then simply move the database. When that is done you start the service again.

the earlier suggestion is correct…we move our db file without a problem.

Shutdown the service, and paste to another drive.

Start the service, as then start client on the server PC, On open datbase window, eter the the server name and the path of the datnase on the database name field.

If the database is getting large then you need to expand the DB with more database parts. In any case you should never have had your DB on the C: drive.
