Move inventory to a new SKU

(NAV 2009 R2)

We’ve got a user request about moving inventory of old SKU, i.e. location based, to a new SKU, due to change of vendor. We could use negative/positive adjustment of old/new SKU to achieve the purpose, but there are a few SKU’s and for each pair of old/new SKU, we need to do it for more than 70 locations, which obviously is time consuming. Is there a better way to do it? Thanks.

Hi.

The table 5700 has the primary key “Location Code,Item No.,Variant Code” => to do the task you need to create at least new variant and then move goods

It is not a good idea because have a big possibility to receive Unit Cost “issue” after running of the Unit cost correction procedure

You are right - correct way to do it is posting a negative/positive adjustment for each pair of SKU’s. You can use item reclassification journal to simplify the job a little, but still it’s not a silver bullet. Lines can be generated with a C/AL code if you have a developer license. Otherwise it’s still some manual work.

It is not correct, but the easiest way to do it.

If you have a DEV license you can change the 22 CU a little and do posting like “transfer”
