yes, you can run different clients in a single PC.

but you have to create two configurations for two versions and save it as .axc files and run individually.

I’ve heard that this exact combination (AX2012 and AX2012 R2) doesn’t work because of some conflicts in shared resources, but I’ve never tried it by myself, so I don’t know any details.

It won’t work. Different version i.e, AX2012 and AX2012R2 will not work in a single machine.
