How to disable timeout for a specific user

Dear all,

I would like to disable timeout for a specific windows client in NAV 2013R2. Whilst keeping the ClientServicesIdleClientTimeout in Instance for 10 mins, adding a line for the specific user’s ClientUserSettings as did not work and the user’s sessions still closes after 10 mins. Can you please guide how to disable timeout for a specific user? Thanks.

Hello,

You can’t do that for one user only.

The ClientServicesIdleClientTimeout-tag is not for the ClientUserSettings.config-file but for the servicetier-settingfile, and by that for all users using that servicetier. Sorry

Hi Araratnat,

This is a server instance setting. You cannot override it per user.

What you could do is use something like Expandit Client Manager.

I don’t think they are eager to purchase a new software for this case but thanks for letting me know. It can be useful for other projects.
