Hello,

I would like to know if there is any way how to manage FA by quantities.For example, “Chairs” or “Tables” that are bought in large quantities(i.e 200 pcs) are registered in one same FA code.

How to manage the FA inventory by quantity ?

You need to do customization.

we have added Quantity and UOM in Fixed Asset table…

Would you not assign each “chair” its own “Asset Number”? Therefore shouldn’t they be separate Fixed Assets?

One chair = one FA code makes physical inventory difficult to count.

If all chairs (and lots of restaurant assets) are identical why shouldn’t they all be in one FA Code?

You must count them anyway to be sure all are present… Do you use some kind of labels sticked to FAs? Print barcoded FA No on them - that will speed up recognizing the Nos. Barcode reader (wand-type) is relatively cheap, no big investments needed.

You may choose both approaches - which one best suits business needs.

It’s easier to create one FA for 200 chairs, but you’ll need to split this single FA (it can be done, no problem with this) to dispose 10 broken ones out of these 200… Or, you decide to relocate 50 chairs to another restaurant…

In a word, every action with PART of initial quantity will involve additional steps, which can be avoided, if every “chair” has it’s own FA No.
