Error:Inventory dimension Location must be specified.

Hi,

When I create a P&L journal, I can’t post it and I got the error:

“Inventory dimension Location must be specified.”

If I put the quantity to negative, then no error shows, it only happened when the quantity is set to positive.

I check the dimension group setup, the Location is not mandatory at all, but it is ticked for “Physical inventory” and “Active”.

Any ideas?

Although mandatory is not ticked this is for initial entry, like on a sales line, and you would not enter here, you define on a pick list which is why it is not mandatory. However because it is active for physical inventory prior to the physical posting of an entry you must tell it the location as you hold stock in this manner. Tell the system the location in the warehouse where you are putting the stock (which helps the user trust me) and then post it.
