Cross company - Cross modular reports

Hi Guys,

I am new to axapta development however have a good experience in OLAP reporting. We have a requirement to create cross company reports and cross modular reports.

  1. We have Report designer (based on existing tables)
  2. We have Auto reports (based on existing tables)
  3. We have Report builder (based on existing model and perspectives).

I have tried to create a report in Business Intelligence Development Studio 2005, that is based on tables and fetches the data through a SQL query. My concern is that, is it a good method to create a report in which there would be around 5,00,000 records to be displayed ?

Is there any way through which I can open the existing model in Analysis Services project?

The only issue with our reports is that, they would be having a lot of data to display, which method you suggest that will be OK to develop new reports.

We are implementing Microsoft AX 4.
