I have several backups from Navsion2009 (which was installed on my laptop,) and I want to continue my work with them in Navsion 5.0 (which is on my PC). Are there any ways to restore these backups in Navision 5.0 (despite that tey were created in new version o navision) ???
No, you can’t go backwards - that is, open newer DB with an older version of Navision.
The opposite is PARTLY possible, as you can open older DB in newer client, BUT:
The database on first open will be unreversibly converted to new version, so you will be no longer able to open it with original client,
The convertion is not “full” - that means there will not appear some new features from new version (as not all new objects in charge for new features are created, only minor structure changes are done and internal version number is updated, so many additional actions must be taken for full-blown upgrade)
