Restoring AX 2012 DB to AX 2012 R3 DB

Hi everyone,

I’m planning to restore data from AX 2012(Feature Pack) DB to AX 2012 R3 DB. Kindly Help me how to do it.

Since Ax 2012 R3 is having separate DB’s for data and model ,and the older version is having a single DB for both, I’m little bit stuck. Kindly share some solutions.

It’s not possible to just restore database from some older version; the databases have different schema. You’ll have to perform data upgrade instead of mere restore.

Look at Scenario: Perform in-place upgrade to AX 2012 R2 or AX 2012 R3.
