I really would appreciate your support with a certain problem we have and we would like to bring Microsoft to pay attention to the issue - and of course resolve it.
This platform is monitored by the NAV development team and partners can use it to suggest new features in the application and dev environment (not only for NAV, but almost all Microsoft products).
Seemingly “some animals are more equal than others” - I’m logged in Connect, but I get the same not found, and in the list of feedbacks max ID is only 407252 - much less than the one in your link…
That is quite funny.
Maybe there are several servers around the world which only synchronize from time to time and the one you are using is not the same we are getting connected to.
So maybe it is getting better tomorrow?.
The IP address of the server seems to be 207.46.153.62
Apparently you, besides being registered at Connect and subscripe to Dynamics, also have to “activate” the feedback thing.
After i found it through the search, the link works fine.
I think there is a good chance for realisation if the COPYSTREAM function uses the IStream::CopyTo Method from COM (http://msdn.microsoft.com/en-us/library/aa380038(VS.85).aspx) because that method already provides a parameter for the number of bytes to copy. Nevertheless I’m in favor of your suggestion, of course [Y]
Yesterday I spent an hour or two to check if it would be possible to write a COM automation server, which could do the COPYSTREAM with bytes parameter, and it looks like working. It might be a workaround with the advantage for the RTC that you have to install it only on the middle tier server.
By the way, wouldn’t it be advantageous if the new COPYSTREAM method would return the no. of bytes copied? Consider the case, where you want to copy 20 bytes but there are only 10 bytes remaining in the InStream…
