G/L Income Statment A/c filter closing entries

I am trying to get a total of all transactions to hit a G/L profit & loss(income) account whithin a date range excluding closing entries. The only was I can see of doing this is to loop through the G/L entries and total amounts where “Posting Date” <> CLOSINGDATE(“Posting Date”). There has to be a better/more elegant solution. Ideas?

Try looking into Analsys Views, Form 554. On the Options Tab there is a ClosingEntryFilter.
