EP will be having limited functionality than the rich client. I don’t say it is a disadvantage but this is what the objective of giving the EP. To provide a limited functionality at low cost.
The things i could see in EP are company can give access to the customers and vendors thorough EP.In EP you will be having the functionalities related to CRM (creating leads , opportunities , quotations) , creating sales orders, Purchase requisitions, Purchase Order - the approvals and you can enter service orders and can check the on hand availability , can enter the expenses and time sheets, i don’t think you will have an option to post the invoices here and finally the functionality is very limited…
When you see it from the Licensing part - you can find a huge cost difference between a rich client and an EP user.
Basically my understanding is EP can perform the tasks of only a few roles - like customer role, vendor role, Employee from HR prospective etc…
