I’m working on NAV 5.0 SP1 and I’ve just received a developer license configured for 2009.
I’ve changed the license and seems working.
Do I have to assume the developer license is working for all NAV platform ?! Are there any caveats or sideeffets ?

The developer’s license is backwards compatible.
Recently they also provisioned to allow for the 2013 licenses to also be backwards compatible.
Whenever any new version is available then you need to configure the developer license it on partner source and use it .You need to configure the developer license for compatibility to lower version
