Microsoft has announced that Dynamics AX 2012 R3 will be released next April. A notifiable feature is the next update will be sold as on premise and as cloud service. AX 2012 R3 provides Warehouse and transportation management capabilities.

Microsoft has announced pricing promotion for Microsoft Office 365 customers upto 40% through March 31 next year and available in 42 global markets.

I believe R3 version will come up with many new features. MS already acquired Blue Horseshoe’s Warehouse and Transportation vertical. This will really make SCM modules more powerful.
