yes,it's too simple a question but, how to pronounce c/al ?

or we just read it letter by letter like this: c slash a l ?

pronounce it as CAL (or KAL).

The correct pronunciation is “sea aye elle”

The whole naming came from the days when PC&C used to use movie names as code names for products, like Jaws, Hook etc. Then there was this idea of a Beach theme, and they came up with the idea of naming the IDE “Sea Side” C/SIDE (Client Server Integrated Development Environment) then it followed from there.

Don’t forget the “sea shells” currency. [:)] I guess I know where that came from now.

is it true that the reason of C/AL eror is due of incomplete installation such as…PLUS CFRONT and.LSR exe or OCX files… thanks all here…

“sea aye elle” seems difficult to pronounce, whereas kal is easier to.i prefer the letter one: kal.

tell me which side you are on?

Edward,

It’s not about being on anyone’s side, David is right and that’s all there is to say about it! [:)]

But then again, do how you like to do. It’s the same with Dynamics NAV, where Microsoft’s plan was that this should be pronounced en-aye-wee - instead most people just say “nav”.

When you first get used to the Navision world, then it’s only natural to say sea-aye-elle when you also say sea side etc.

Actually I feel the correct pronunciation of “Dynamics NAV” is ‘Nah-vi-zh-n’

The moral of the story: as long as people know what you’re talking about, you can pronounce it however you want. [Y]
