What are the types of Dimensions in Dynamics AX and its purpose

Hello Friends,

I am new to Dynamics Ax, Can you please tell me that, What are the types of Dimensions in Dynamics AX and its purpose and How to use these Dimensions

It depends on which dimensions u r asking for, Financial Dimensions which r Department, Cost Center and Purpose

or Inventory Dimension which r Configuration, Color and Size

Or third possible type is storage dimension which r 7 Site, location etc.

Financial dimensions are used for analytical purpose. Inventory dimensions are used as variants costing, pricing purpose plus used for analysis as well. Storage dimensions has somewhat same purpose as Inventory dimensions.
