Dear Experts
I created a Warehouse Pick for a Released Production Order and registered it. I picked 5 items, but one of the items was incorrect. I need to reverse this Registered Pick Line.
I know I can remove the item from the Production Components or the Consumption Journal, but the Registered pick entry itself cannot be removed. It still appears in the Released Production Order.
Could you please guide me on how to properly reverse or remove the Registered Pick Line?
I don’t know about best practice but I delete the registered pick and use item reclass to move the item back to the proper bin.
Lori is correct on using the Reclass Journal. It is the quickest way to move inventory from one Bin to another within Business Central. Just make sure your warehouse physically moves the material so the system and reality match.
You do not need to delete the Registered Pick, that doesn’t do anything to your inventory. By deleting the Registered Pick, you are making it harder to audit what happened.
I agree with @Ben_Baxter , but the only point I want to counter is that sometimes we have to delete the Registered Pick—not because we want to, but because it’s required to complete a transaction. For example, if you post only a shipment (without an invoice) for a Sales Order with advanced warehouse functionality, and for any reason you want to undo that shipment, the system won’t allow it. However, if you delete the Registered Pick and then try again, the undo process works successfully.
If there is any better option than this, I’d be happy to hear it.
