On the vendor balance form the balance is different from the Balance in Currency
One is calculated via VendTrans the other- via vendTransOpen. Is it normal that there is a discrepancy? If not, then how can I understand where this issue is coming from. I’m a bit lost trying to analyse settlements as there are a lot of reversals and it looks like a mess. Maybe there is some report that can help understanding the situation or some form that shows all the settlements for the vendor including reversed ones (reversed transactions)
It’s not clear to me what forms/fields you are referring to.
Can you provide more details or possibly screenshots?
The difference between the three fields there shouldn’t be the datasource, necessarily; it’s trying to show the balance in the different possible currencies that you could want to see it.
Balance Currency = This the balance of the vendor in the currency displayed in the “Currency” column. Lots of times, this’ll just be the same as the currency you have set as your accounting currency because that’s how you’re transacting with the vendor, but not always. Take a look at the screenshot I’ve provided. This vendor has some invoices in both USD and CAD.
Balance = This balance is the “Balance currency” amount but in MST - whatever your accounting currency is.
Balance in reporting currency = This balance is the “Balance currency” amount but displayed in whatever your reporting currency is. If you have different accounting and reporting currencies, this’ll be relevant, but if you don’t, it’ll be the same as the “Balance” column.
The different rows just make this little form look kind of like a matrix - they’re showing the same data above.
As @zvika.rimalt stated, if you need more help, maybe some additional details would be useful.
