Using Items with Serial Numbers in Job Journals

Hi Forum, Is it possible to use Items with Serial Numbers in a Job Journal in Version 4. The help seems to indicate that you are and I tried to do this in Cronus using Item 80103-T. I Purchase 1 with a SN of 12345 then created a Job Journal to use it. Firstly the SN was not available on the form so I put it on the JJ Form then added the Serial Number but when I tried to Post, it told me that I must specify a Serial No. I then tried using the Apply to Item Entry but still no joy. Am I missing something or is it not possible. Thanks…Paul

It’s a bug/feature of NAV 4.0.

On the Serial No. tab clear check boxes:

SN Specific Tracking
SN No. Info Must Exist (Inbound and Outbound)
SN Negative Adjmt. Transaction (Inbound and Outbound)
SN Warehouse Tracking

Purchases & Payables Setup select Exact Cost Reversing

And now use Appl.-to Item Entry

Hi Nuno Maia, thanks for that. I will look to see if there is a fix on PartnerSource otherwise I will do as you suggest.

That solution has taken from partnersource. I didn’t look further but probably there is a hotfix in code.

Hi, yes, so I just found out. Not sure that this work around is going to be acceptable. I will have to look for a Hotfix. Thanks Nuno Maia.
