User Portal for Navision:

Is anybody doing development work with the new UserPortal for Navision? What are the specifications so far based on the Danish version? Most web parts for Digital Dashboard are read access only, not able to write to a database on the server. But on a version of the demo on userportal.navision.com it seemed to be able to add records to certian tables. Also what is the role SharePoint server in the process? Any information would be appriciated! Chris Studebaker

I know Navision Denmark did a developers workshop on this issue. Anyone attended it, and could you please share some information with us here, thanks. Soren Nielsen, moderator Integration/Developer NOLUG

I’m not sure I understand what you mean by “specifications”. What you need is w2k server with IIS and Message Queue installed, Navision server 2.60D or 3.0 (yet to come). Microsoft Digital Dashboard and - of course the User Portal software.

User Portal can do both: Get data from Navision as well as transfer data. Both is done via XML files which are transferred with Message Queue.

In my work with user Portal I never came accross the term “SharePoint server”. Are you sure it’s somehow related to User Portal? ------- With best regards from Switzerland Marcus Fabian
