Upgrade from NAV 5.0 to 6.0

Hi,

Inorder to upgrade from NAv 5.0 to 6.0 first i need to perform all the customization in the Nav6.0 that are done on the Customer’s Customized Database(NAV 5.0). Can you please list the steps to do the customizations. I had gone through the upgradation documents. But i dont get clear idea to do this. Please guide me.

Hi Karthik,

Upgrade is depending on your how much customization present in NAV 5.0.

  1. Object merge: I will suggest you if customization is less then go for New implementation and merge your changes merge and compare tool. If your customization is more then you have go though NAV merge tool.

  2. Database merge: Use NAV merge tool.

This is infact opposite, if the database is heavily customised then only new implementation can make sense otherwise upgrade is the way to follow.

There are standard steps/ practices for upgrade and you should follow that.

Use Latest NDT for upgration…And follow the Study material as described…
