Hi, We just upgraded a 2.60D to 4.00, using the latest 4.00 toolkit. For some reasons, it occured that we lost all the objects + data included in “Advanced Distributions Module” (99 million range). I heard in the past the upgrading 2.6 to 4.0 was a 2 steps process. However, it seems clear in the 4.0 toolkit that there is a straight path from 2.x to 4.0… Can anyone share their experience on upgrading 2.6D to 4.0? Thanks in advance,
I just got the answer from Microsoft… this is a 2 steps process (see below). - From Microsoft --------------------------------------- You can upgrade a Financials and a Manufacturing database straight from 2.6 to 4.0, but you will have to upgrade a 2.6 Distribution database to 3.6 first and then you can upgrade the 3.6 database to 4.0. On the MBS-Navision NA 4.00 Upgrade Toolkit page on PartnerSource from where you can download the 4.0 toolkit it says that the toolkit is for upgrading Attain, Financials, and Manufacturing to MBS Navision North American Version 4.00 and the versions that you can use the upgrade toolkit for are listed: This tooklit is used to upgrade from the following listed Navision products to MBS Navision North American Version 4.00. Navision Financials US 2.60 Navision Manufacturing US 2.60 Navision Commerce Gateway US 2.65 Navision Commerce Portal US 2.65 Navision Attain US 3.01 Navision Attain NA 3.10 Navision Attain NA 3.60 MBS-Navision NA 3.70 You can find information about how to upgrade an Advanced Distribution database on page 49 in the w1w1upgr.pdf Upgrade Toolkit manual, which is included in the 4.0 upgrade tool. Here it tells you to first upgrade to 3.6 by using the upgrade toolkit for 3.6 and then upgrade the 3.6 database to 4.0. …
