Upgradation From 3.7 To 4.0 (Sp3)

Hi

When i am importing the new customized objects into the database it shows me error.

“Your program licence doesnot permit you to create the notify about the Team To-do chgs. field in the salesperson\purchaser table.”

Contact the system manager if you need to have your program licence upgradated.

Well this is a typical problem when you use the merge tools and try to import the text files created into your existing database.

Well here is what you should do:

  1. Of cause never work on a production database!

  2. Don’t import the text file into a copy of you 3.70 database, but import them into a 4.0 database. And when you’re done, copy the objects to you 3.70 database.

  3. If you have multiple add-ons (with special protected object ranges) then this is often not enough. Sometimes you must use the object import and merge new fields before your try to import your merged fields.

The real issue is that your normal developer license doesn’t allow you to create protected fields with text imports, but there is no problem with the normal fob imports.

Thanks for your reply. What i have done is restore the backup of 3.7 into 4.0 (sp3) i am able to delete all the objects from 3.7 database except tables then restore the txt objects (that i created in compare and merge process).

Then it shows me the error that i shared with you.

I also have the same problem

from Nav 4 sp 3 to nav 5 sp 1

while i import object to nav 5 sp 1

Your program license does not permit you to delete the Outlook Tasks Folder Path field in the Salesperson/Purchaser table
Contac your system manager if you need to have your program license updated
