Unit of measure purchase to stock

Hi
We have an item with base unit of measure DR for drum. We purchase in LB pounds. the conversion is LB 0.01 to base, so we order 100 LB and expect to receive 1 DR. When we process the receipt, the quantity converts correctly, but the bin contents and the item ledger entries show unit of measure of LB instead of DR. How can we correct our inventory and then prevent this from happening again?

Thanks.

First, it is important to mention your Base Unit of Measure should always be the smallest unit of measure (LB) to avoid fractional quantities for whole numbers (DR).

You purchased the product in LB, so that is how it will be received into inventory. The Item List/Card should still display the Quantity in your Base Unit of Measure, but your ledgers will reflect how it was received.

If you sell in DR, the system will tell you to Pick 100 LB and place 1 DR, then pick 1 DR, assuming you don’t change it prior to the sale.

If you don’t want the ledgers to reflect LB, you can adjust the inventory out (LB) and in (DR) to update your ledger as Drums.
