Unit cost price breakdown

Is there a way I can see exactly what figures the system has used in order to calculate the cost price of an item, I have some items that have a wild value for their cost price and I need to know where things have gone wrong!

Please help!

What does the Item Ledger Entries show you?

If they are really out of whack…
first I run the Adjust Cost Batch Job & then the Item Revaluation Journal.
Functions->Calculate Inventory Value
filter the items in question
On options tab - select Item ledger entry

It should show you all the item ledger entries for that/those items.

So you can see where the issue is.

Cost Price : This is the actual value of the item when last purchased. Normally expressed in units.

Avg. Cost : When new stock is combined with old stock, the new price often overstates the value of stock holding. The better method is to combine the total value of investment in stock, old and new and divide by the total number of units to calculate the average cost. This is a very accurate method of establishing stock holding.

So the better option to go to Item Card & drill down the unit cost & observe the cost where the change effect into you entire costing process. Then You also can drill down & able to see the movement of cost of the Item like …Increase & decrease of the cost.

Go to Item Card and drill down on Unit Cost Field
