unable to select Batch number in picking list of production order

Hi,

I am facing a problem in production order execution.The scenario is I have created automatic picking list journal while starting a production order. The picking list has been created but batch number for the item has been not reflected and that field has become un editable also. So to overcome this situation temporarily I am creating another line for the item in the same picking list journal and there I am able to select Batch number in the field. Is this some setup problem can anyone please suggest me how to solve this.

Do you have reservations turned on?

Does your dimension group have “blank issue allowed” ticked - not sure how you are consuming a batch tracked item without the batch if this is not ticked - have you modified it?
