Unable to ActiveX control "Chart Object"

Hi Experts,

I am getting an activeX control dialog when I am opening a form(customized) which is not from the standard. Please find the screen shot of the error dialog.

I have copied the smmphone.ocx to the common folder and then registered it in cmd… Still no luck.

Please help me in getting it solved.

Can you give us more information about your form, please, especially the ActiveX control you’re trying to use? It seems to be a sort of chart control…
Also, which version of Dynamics AX are you using? (Please attach a version tag, such “AX 2012”, when creating a new thread.)

Thanks Martin, I am using AX 2012 R3 and regarding the form, it’s already developed by someone and I don’t understand what type of activeX control it is… the only thing that I can identify is class name and it is the same unique ID which is getting displayed in the above dialog.

Please guide me if you need any thing else to dig deep.

I did some extra work for you and typed the ID down as text - it’s E9DF30CA-4B30-4235-BF0C-7150F646606C. Then I was able to put it into a search engine and found it’s ChartFX. That’s what you should focus instead of the component for phone integration.

Note that according to What’s New: Client for Developers in Microsoft Dynamics AX 2012, ChartFX used to be used in AX 2009, while you should use a managed control called MSChart in AX 2012. It seems that this form hasn’t been upgraded correctly.
