Transaction date and Posting date

Hi

In Dynamics AX 2012, is transaction date equivalent to posting date?

if i received a payment on 29 Oct, but have already closed my books, and wished to post it to November period, should i enter the receipt transaction date as 29 Oct or 1 Nov?

If the period is closed, how can you post the entry in that period. You need to post the transaction in open period. You can however use the document date feature to record the payment receipt date.

Yes , need to consider the Document date to calculate the vendor due date . But when you generate the financial reports system will show the transaction in the October monthly.

Financial statements relies on the posting date only. You can use document date for aging report or some other report.
