I am not sure why AX allow for picking same item twice even through that item has been pack slip updated!
We need to track incoming (purchase) and outgoing (sales) items. it helps us to know the serialized items remaining in inventory and how long its been sitting there.
Serial number group - allocation manual
Open PO → receive item (register serial numbers) say AX201. when I create a SO → update line and pick - it shows the serial item as on-hand. Ok. pick it and register and pack slip update and deliver.
create another SO, pick item, there it shows the item AX201 but on-hand is negative (-1). I can pick and register this item?
I changed to automatic, it still allow for picking items which has already been shipped.
negative physical/financial on item model is enabled so we can create SO even though don’t have items on on-hand
the items are bought (most of the time) not for specific customer. it can be sold to anyone. they are bought in unit of 1 qty, 5 pack, 10pack etc., and sold in the same manner to customers.
for e.g we purchase below
item iPhone 6 Serial Numbers: iPhone1 and iPhone2 for 2 qty
we sold 1 item say iPhone1.
when we create a new SO, only iPhone2 will be available for pick or it should allow for creation of SO even through there isn’t enough on-hand quantity when order quantity exceeds on-hand inventory.
