hi friends, I need to copy the data from one company to other company for all setup tables of all modules. As discussed in previous forum http://www.navision.net/forum/topic.asp?TOPIC_ID=9491 it is not a good practice to keep datapercompany=No but as i have to do it for every setup table, then as I guess, it should be safe. But then also, I need your suggestion. should I do this or not??? Thanx in advance, Seema
You may wish to change setup per company at a later date therefore i would suggest a simple dataport of the data out and back in to the new company.
What version are you running as there is also a copy data wizard you could use in Setup checklist. I know this exists in Version 3.70
Look at GL > Setup > Setup Checklist. From your Live Company you can use the ‘Copy Data’ function to bring data from your Test Company. -john
Hi Seema, You can copy data from one company to another company by using Setup Checklist. (G/L → Setup->Setup Checklist). Select the Table for which you want to copy data, and go to Function-> Copy Data. In the “Copy From” Lookup, select the desired company and press OK. This will copy data for the selected table from one company to another company.
Hi, There is a nice download in mibuso, the Company Copy. It is for 3.70. I have used it and it seems fine, you choose what to copy and keep you copy settings for later use… It also can call the OnInsert or OnModify triggers as you copy data. Take a look at it, I think it is what you are looking for…
